The Department runs an artificial insemination service for cattle which is administered from Knockaloe.

Importation of semen, embryos and ova is subject to health requirements and in some cases licence. Contact Animal Health for further information.

Do it yourself artificial insemination (DIY AI) of livestock species is only allowed under Licence to ensure animal welfare and disease control. Contact Animal Health for further information.
