Movement Licences
Specific licences are required for all movements (except direct for slaughter or veterinary treatment).
Please contact DEFA Agriculture on 685844 or email Agriculture@gov.im in order to obtain a movement licence.
Details required for a Movement Licence are:
- Name, Address and Holding Number of departure and destination;
- Date of intended movement;
- Numbers and details of pigs;
- Purpose of Movement (sale / breeding).
DEFA Agriculture requires 1 working day’s notice for a ‘Movement Licence’.
The licence will be issued to the Holding of Departure and must travel with the animal(s). The licence must be kept by the Holding of Destination for a period of six months and shall during that period produce the licence on demand to an inspector.
Movements direct to slaughter do not require a licence and movements for veterinary treatment are covered by a general licence; please see downloadable document below.
