Movement Licences
Specific licences will be required for all movements (except direct for slaughter or veterinary treatment) as from 01 March 2008.
Please contact Animal Health Division either by phone (685844), answerphone (687595), email (animal.health@gov.im) or in writing in order to obtain a movement licence. Details required for a Movement Licence are:
- Name, Address and Holding Number of departure and destination;
- Date of intended movement;
- Numbers and details of pigs;
- Purpose of Movement (sale / breeding).
Animal Health requires 1 working day’s notice for a ‘Movement Licence’.
The licence will be issued to the Holding of Departure and must travel with the animal(s). The licence must be kept by the Holding of Destination for a period of six months and shall during that period produce the licence on demand to an inspector.
Movements direct to slaughter do not require a licence and movements for veterinary treatment are covered by a general licence; please see downloadable document below.
