Knowledge of Life in the UK and Islands Test
Foreign nationals applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the Isle of Man must pass the Test ‘Life in the UK and Islands’. The original certificate will also be required for any subsequent Naturalisation application.
EEA nationals and their non-EEA family members do not need to meet this requirement in order to become settled in the Isle of Man, but if they later wish to be naturalised as a British Citizen they must pass the test.
Anyone wishing to study for the test should obtain the book entitled ‘Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents’ and the supplement entitled ‘Life in the Isle of Man’.
