Staff of Government (Appeals)

The Staff of Government Division is the Isle of Man's Court of Appeal. It is the second highest court in the Isle of Man, the highest being the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. Unlike the other High Court Divisions, the Staff of Government Division usually has two judges sitting. It can hear appeals from;

• criminal cases (from the Court of General Gaol Delivery); and
• civil cases.

In some cases you will first need to obtain the permission of the lower court or of the Staff of Government Division in order to appeal to the Staff of Government Division.
