Marine Nature ReservesD.E.F.AMarine Nature Reserve Project Community Meetings

DAFF has recently begun the Marine Nature Reserve Project which is a three year project to identify and establish the first Marine Protected Area for conservation in Manx waters. A vital part of this project is the active involvement of the community so we very much hope that you will be able to participate in this stage of the consultation. We want to make sure that everyone has a chance to hear about the project and to get involved so we have organised 8 community meetings around the Island (details on the attached document).

We are keen to learn from the experiences of similar projects elsewhere and have invited a speaker to talk about the Lundy Marine Nature Reserve and on developments in marine conservation in England.
