The Department wants to know your views on updating its strategy for agriculture, which will set the direction for the Island's rural economy and countryside for the next five years and beyond.
At this early stage the Department is seeking to identify issues that will potentially affect the industry in the medium to long term. We hope to initiate an informed debate prior to the creation of formal proposals. A consultation on the main support measure for agriculture, the Countryside Care Scheme will follow thereafter.

The Insurance and Pensions Authority has released for consultation a copy of the draft Retirement Benefits Schemes (Miscellaneous Amendment) Regulations 2011, a copy of which are set out as an Appendix to the consultation document.

These draft regulations provide for a number of amendments to:

• the Retirement Benefits Schemes (Management and Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations 2001
• the Retirement Benefits Schemes (Excepted Schemes) Regulations 2001
• the Retirement Benefits Schemes (International Schemes) Regulations 2001
• the Retirement Benefits Schemes (Domestic Schemes) (General Administration) Regulations 2004
• the Retirement Benefits Schemes (Recognised Schemes) (United Kingdom) Order 2004
• the Retirement Benefits Schemes (Permitted Schemes) Regulations 2004.

Comments are sought on the consultation paper produced by the Isle of Man Ship Registry that cover proposals for implementing the International Labour Organisations Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (MLC). The consultation is on the Minimum requirements for seafarers to work on a ship. Once again we are consulting on policy, not the completed regulations.
