Renewing your adult passport

If you are living in the Isle of Man, or were born in Isle of Man and are currently in the UK, you may apply to renew your British passport through our office. You will need to complete and sign the application form.

If you were not born in the Isle of Man and are living in the UK, you must apply through the UK offices.

If you are living abroad, please use the following link to renew your passport -

How much is an adult passport?

To renew an adult, 10 year, 32-page passport costs £72.50 (standard service).

What do I need to do?

You will need to complete the application form and submit it to our office with:

  • two recent identical photographs that meet our requirements (all passport application forms come with detailed guidelines on what is and is not acceptable). We do not have an in-house photography facility. See internationally agreed standards for passport photographs
  • a countersignatory (someone to witness your application) - if required
  • your current/last passport
  • the fee

You need to complete section 4 of the form if you were born, adopted, registered or naturalised in the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.

If you have a link with the UK through a parent or grandparent that was born, adopted, naturalised or registered in the UK, you will need to provide as much information as possible. You only need to provide details of one parent or grandparent, not all.

Supporting documents you will need to provide

Apart from the completed application form and two recent identical photographs, the only supporting document you need to send is your current or last passport.

If your name has changed or is about to change you will need to supply extra documents.

What happens to my old passport?

We will cancel your old passport when a new one is issued. You will not be able to use the old passport, but we will return it to you unless it has been defaced or altered. In these cases it will be destroyed and not returned to you.
