May - September 2008: BRASS BANDS SUMMER SEASON

The Summer Season of the Brass Bands of the Isle of Man kicks off with the Salvation Army Band at 8:00pm on Thursday 8th May at the Loch Promenade Church. Concerts take place on Sundays at 3:00pm in the Villa Marina Gardens (weather permitting) or Colonnade Suite. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday concerts start at 8:00pm and take place at either the Villa Marina Colonnade Suite or Loch Promenade Church. Click here for full programme for May/June and July/August.

To celebrate Liverpool's year as Capital of Culture, July 2008 sees the return of the hugely popular RLPO. On Saturday 12th, under the baton of Vasily Petrenko and featuring soloist Paul Lewis, the programme comprises: Beethoven Overture, Coriolan; Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4, and Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5. On Sunday 13th, with conductor Carl Davis, the programme is "Great Film Themes", including music from James Bond, Spiderman, ET, Superman, Dances with Wolves, Harry Potter, Bridge On the River Kwai and Pirates of the Caribbean.

14th and 15 July 2008: JASON EVANS, CALEB SIBLEY AND ELIAS SIBLEY IN CONCERT

Jason Evans (Trumpet and Piano), Caleb Sibley (Viola) and Elias Sibley (Guitar) appear in concert at the Erin Arts Centre, Port Erin on 14th July 2008 and at St German's Cathedral, Peel on 15th July 2008.. Tickets for the Erin Arts Centre concert can be obtained from the box office on 01624 832662. The concert at St German's Cathedral is free.
