Changes announced to health service review programme

Tuesday, 23 December 2014

Changes have been announced to the review programme of the Isle of Man’s health services being conducted by the West Midlands Quality Review Service (WMQRS).

Minister of Health and Social Care, Howard Quayle MHK, confirmed:

'The Department is firmly committed to continuing with the external review programme. However, preparing for and responding to the reviews requires significant resources. By adjusting the schedule we hope to be in a better position to deliver the recommendations that have already been received from the WMQRS, minimise any duplication of scrutiny, and ensure that we can continue to deliver our services to the public. '

To date the Department has received three reports from the WMQRS.

As a result, inspections scheduled for March 2015 will likely take place in either late September or October 2015 and a new timetable for the inspections scheduled for June 2015 is still to be agreed.
