Friends of MNH

Our Friends

With a membership of over 5,500 the Friends organisation shares the aims of Manx National Heritage to preserve, protect and promote the full range of Manx heritage. The Friends seek to provide unified support and encouragement for the work of Manx National Heritage throughout the Island and by joining the Friends of Manx National Heritage members can play a role in conserving the cultural heritage and natural environment of the Isle of Man for future generations to enjoy.

The natural and cultural heritage of the Island has benefited greatly over the years through the enthusiastic and generous assistance of the Friends. Extensive areas of Manx countryside have been protected and preserved under the ownership of Manx National Heritage, as areas of outstanding natural beauty, for public recreation and the conservation of wildlife. The comprehensive collections in the Manx Museum have been regularly enhanced by a wide variety of acquisitions of great historical value.

By becoming a Friend, valuable support in the form of an annual subscription, life membership or legacy will go towards continuing the policy of funding all aspects of the work of Manx National Heritage.

Friends have free access to all the Story of Mann attractions throughout the Island as well as all the National Trust land. By reciprocal arrangement, Manx residents have free or reduced admission to properties operated by the National Trust for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the National Trust for Scotland, English Heritage and Historic Scotland, as well as equivalent organisations in Australia, New Zealand, the Cayman Islands and Bermuda.

A discount is available at Story of Mann Heritage shops and Friends receive a special programme of events listing which includes access to exhibitions, lectures, film nights and social gatherings.
