Find a Street

The section will assist you in using the Street finder:

• Ensure the Search Screen is displayed by clicking on the Search title.
• Ensure the 'Street search' option is selected
• Type in the street name you wish to search for and click the Go button next to it or press the <Return> key
• After a few seconds, a list of one or more matching street names will be displayed. If no matching streets are found, a message will be displayed and you can try again.
• You can use the scrollbar to the right of the street names to scroll through the results if there are too many to display on the screen at one time.
• Click the View button next to the street record to highlight and display a map zoomed to the extent of that street

Notes:

1. You may enter an '*' as a 'wild card' to broaden the search. For example searching for 'Glen *' will return 'Glen Road', 'Glen View Terrace', 'Glen Bank' and so on. Too broad a search may return a very large list of results.
2. Searches are not case-sensitive. You may use either lower or upper case.
3. Pressing the View button will zoom to the extent of the start and end points of the street. In the case of a curved street, this may result in a portion of the street falling outside the map. To see the whole street, use the Zoom Out tool or Scale slider bar to zoom out.
4. NB: System downtime. Street and Postcode searches are unavailable between 00:45 and 01:30 GMT/BST Tuesday-Saturday to allow for system administration. The map and the remaining map tools will continue to operate as normal during these periods.
