MANNGIS On-line Map Help SystemMANNGIS On-line Map Help SystemTurn Map Layers On and OffThe MANNGIS On-line Map service allows many map layers to be displayed at any one time. You can control which layers are displayed using the Layers menu: - Ensure the Layers menu is expanded by clicking on the Layers title.
- Tick the boxes next to the map layers you want to display, or deselect the ones you wish to exclude
- Click
Refresh Map.
- The map will be regenerated to include those layers you specified. It will retain the previous area covered.
Notes: - Map layers may only be suitable for display at certain scales. If the current map scale is outside the appropriate limits for a map layer, it will appear “greyed out” in the layer list, as does the “Road Network - Small Scale” entry in the menu opposite.
- The list of layers may vary from those in the menu opposite.
- It is better to display fewer map layers to improve performance and avoid the map becoming too complex and confusing.
- The MANNGIS On-line Maps employ sophisticated software to prevent conflicts between features and their labels within the map screen. It is possible, in a map which displays a lot of information, that certain feature labels may not appear. To remedy this, either turn off map layers you don’t need, or zoom further in to the map so the features become relatively less dense and there is more space to label them.
- The Query tool will display information retrieved from ticked map layers
