IoM Survey provides all digital background mapping on this site under licence to Government Departments and Statutory Boards. Mapping is provided solely for the purpose of making Government information available in the public domain. Website map content is reproduced from Isle of Man Survey mapping with the permission of the Department of Infrastructure, © Crown Copyright.

Anyone wishing to use the background mapping information held on this site for their own purposes must make their own separate arrangements with IoM Survey. Any unauthorised use will infringe Crown Copyright and may lead to prosecution or civil proceedings.

Copyright for Informational Map Layers rests with the respective Government Department or Agency. Anyone wishing to use individual map overlays for their own purposes must contact the relevant body (as described in the table below) to request permission or arrange the necessary licence.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure map data is accurate and up-to-date, we cannot guarantee that the information is error-free. Isle of Man Government accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of the data, nor its fitness for any purpose to which it is put. If errors are discovered, please notify the relevant Department, or contact the MANNGIS team and we will endeavour to correct them.

The Isle of Man Government requires this site to be as accessible as possible. The site works with multiple browsers and has been developed to work without javascript. System Description and Credits

The MANNGIS Internet Map Facility is designed to allow flexible and consistent publication of Governmental spatial data on www.gov.im and to provide a shared, cross-departmental view of Government services. It is developed by ESRI(UK) Ltd on behalf of Isle of Man Government. It is fully integrated with a Government-wide GIS system and the corporate Property and Street databases. This forms a common framework to accommodate Government mapping and GIS applications in a joined-up fashion, in-line with broader Government aims to consolidate IT systems and promote cost efficiencies.

The detailed background map data is partially resurveyed on an annual basis by IoM Survey. This work is contracted to Fugro BKS of Northern Ireland.

MANNGIS

MANNGIS is a pan-Government project, set up in 1992 to facilitate and encourage a joined-up approach to the development of digital map data, gazetteers and Geographic Information Systems in Government Departments and Statutory Boards.
