The Department of Education and Children is inviting views on a new dyslexia policy, to replace the 2002 policy, and an accompanying guidance document, containing advice for parents and teachers about ways to support dyslexic children at home and at school. The policy will ensure the DEC remains in line with current research. It is hoped that by following the new policy and guidance teachers and parents will be more able to improve the educational outcomes and life chances for dyslexic students. The consultation may also be of interest to employers.
