| From the island of Rodrigues in the Indian Ocean this is one of the rarest bats in the world. We have been chosen to join in the breeding programme for this endangered species, organized by Jersey Zoo. A large group of male bats arrived in early November 2006 and were first placed in their indoor quarters in the Life on Islands exhibit. They now have access to their landscaped outside flight enclosure and make a magical sight, feeding or resting in the trees, or flying round the walk-through enclosure | |
