Educational Visits

Pre-booked educational visits to Manx National Heritage properties are free to all schools administered by the Isle of Man Department of Education, King William's College and the Buchan School, to full-time students groups aged 16-18 at Isle of Man College and the Department of Trade and Industry Training Centre.

The educational workshops are searchable by 3 different categories:

Workshop Visits

Education Services offer workshops on popular topics which are free to all Manx schools. Our teaching staff use both site classroom areas where available and display areas at any site, whether seasonal or open all year. The average length of these sessions is two hours, but they can be varied to suit your needs. If you wish to study a particular area not already listed, contact us to find out if we can accommodate your request. Sessions can be extended by prior consultation to last all day i.e. up to four hours, and may involve work at more than one site.

Please book all workshop visits through the Manx Museum.

General Visits

Teaching Information and Resources

For General Visits bookings should be made to the Group Bookings Officer at the Manx Museum - not Education Services.

Enquiries about General Visits should be made on weekdays between 9am and 5pm (tel: 648000). Please ask for the Group Bookings Officer.

General visits are free to pre-booked Manx school groups organised by teachers who lead their own visit to any Manx National Heritage site.

We recommend that teachers make a free advance visit to sites when they prepare their own teaching materials. If you wish to do this, indicate the preferred date and time on the general visit permit application.

Please book all general visits through the Manx Museum. Send a General Visit Permit Application form to the Group Bookings Officer.
