The Isle of Man Department of Trade & Industry aims to promote “a successful diversified economy offering employment opportunities for all” in particular we encourage new business and start-up companies in the Island, whilst providing assistance to existing businesses. The Department is responsible for work related legislation, work permits and the development of skills in the workplace.

The DTI offers up to 40% towards the of costs new buildings, building improvements, new plant and machinery.

Provides an advisory service providing expert Consultancy in Business Planning, Quality, Marketing, Financial Management Controls and Training and Development.

The Department encourages new businesses to start-up in the Island, offering training on aspects of setting up and running a business, a grant is also available to start a business after the training programme.

Every year, Shell Step recruits the UK’s brightest and most enterprising undergraduates and matches them with the specific needs of small organisations. By engaging a student for a Shell Step project, companies benefit from fresh ideas and new skills that can result in the development of existing technologies or processes in their businesses.
