Welcome to the Isle of Man Department of Economic Development

The Department aims to promote enterprise, innovation and increased productivity.
The Department encourages individuals to reach their full potential.
The Isle of Man has an excellent track record in supporting the entrepreneurial spirit and we are committed to helping individuals and business become successful. Ranging from financial services to manufacturing, shipping and aircraft management to e-gaming, film production to precision engineering, our sectors are internationally recognised as some of the best in the world.
The Isle of Man has 10,000 years of history presented under the ‘Story of Mann’ banner by Manx National Heritage. Attractions range from the award-winning House of Manannan in Peel - an interactive heritage centre on the west coast presenting the Island’s Celtic, Viking and maritime history - to museums, medieval castles and breath-taking countryside. The Victorian steam and electric railways are a wonderful way to get around, or drivers can explore the island’s 600 miles of quiet roads. The walking trails and wildlife are superb while other interests catered for include cycling, pony trekking, angling and diving. The Island also has an established reputation for events, particularly motor-sport and the internationally recognised TT Races.
